The 'Scouting Label' is the official brand mark of Scouting Nederland. Campsites marked as a Label Site are in compliance with the Scouting Nederland guidelines, which include requirements for plenty of space, materials, environment for Scout play, possibilities to meet likeminded people and accessible nature. The guidelines are divided in five sections:
Character
A Scouting Label Site allows for camping in the typical Scouting style, which means: sleeping in tents, cooking fires, in short: going Scouting. This way, the caretakers support the objectives of Scouting Nederland.
Basic facilities
Each site offers a standard of basic facilities, such as the opportunity to meet likeminded Scouts or the presence of sanitary facilities. The level of comfort differs per site. Some sites offer toilets, other sites allow for latrines or sanitary tents.
Safety and legal framework
All sites constantly strive to meet legal demands concerning site lay out and maintenance. These include regular checks on the quality of drinking water or allowing for an efficient way to dispose of trash.
Maintenance
A maintenance team or caretaker is continuously responsible for the governance and maintenance of the Scouting Label Site. The caretaker is also available for any questions concerning the site or its surroundings.
Cooperation
All Label Sites cooperate in keeping up the standards and exchange of information. This way all sites profit from the experiences of other sites.
